On April 22, 2017, St. Petersburg will host the third “Festival of Light.” The new grandiose sports facility of the city – the stadium “St. Petersburg Arena” – will become a façade for a mesmerizing 3D projection show.
From the first minutes of the event, viewers will be involved in the unique atmosphere of a large-scale spectacle, dedicated to the image of St. Petersburg, as one of the leading capitals of light design in the world. Particular attention will be paid to presenting a new urban sports facility for the most popular game in the world – football. The plot line of the light show is represented by interconnected transitions of visualizations on the history of St. Petersburg and the history of Russian sport, The techniques used in the project will be a harmonious combination of 3D mapping, light and laser shows, as well as pyrotechnic representation. The main show, which starts at 22:00, will consist of four blocks, accompanied by fireworks, music performances and interactive guest involvement. The Festival of Light is held on the initiative of the Committee for the Development of Tourism and with the support of the Government of St. Petersburg.
