The music festival “Opera for All” is held in St. Petersburg for the sixth time. In the middle of summer, everyone can listen to classical operas performed by talented theater groups on the streets and parks of the city.
By tradition, the most beautiful architectural ensembles of St. Petersburg will become natural scenery for masterpieces of world opera classics. This year’s festival venues will be the Cathedral Square of the Peter and Paul Fortress, Street of Architect Rossi, Central Park on Elagin Island and the Parade Ground of the Tsarskoe Selo Museum-Reserve.
The first festival “Opera for All” was held in 2012 and immediately attracted the attention of citizens, pleased with impeccable performances of masterpieces of opera classics. Each performance under the open sky attracted hundreds and thousands of guests. Thus, “Opera for All” has become one of the main summer events of the Northern Capital, which citizens and tourists try not to miss.
This year the festival will please viewers with four outstanding opera productions. Among them, “Ruslan and Lyudmila” by Mikhail Glinka; “Rigoletto” by Giuseppe Verdi and “Carmen” by Georges Bizet.
