The state organization Rosturizm reported that Russia will create a program called “Japan Friendly”, aimed at creating a comfortable environment for Japanese tourists, similar to the already operating China Friendly. This was reported to journalists by the head of Rosturizm Oleg Safonov. He said that now Russia is actively developing cooperation with Japan, and in regard to this, it is necessary to create the comfortable conditions for Japanese tourists. This is a big project, which includes such programs as China Friendly and Halal-Friendly. The China Friendly program was launched by the initiative of the Association “World Without Borders” in 2014. The project is aimed at adapting the means of tourist service to the requirements of tourists from China and creating a comfortable environment for them. Now the program takes place at 29 accommodation facilities in 10 regions. At the end of 2015, the first tour operator had joined the China Friendly Program – it was the “Intourist Thomas Cook”. Also, two italian restaurants “Jamie’s” in Moscow and St. Petersburg had joined the project.
