Russian Museum is devoted to the Russian Art. It is the home for the best works of the greatest russian painters – Aivazovsky, Repin, Kuinji, Shishkin, Brullov, Surikov and many others. Marble Palace was built by the order of the Empress Catherine II by the architect Alexander Brullov. It shows the beautifully renovated hystorical interiors and the exibition of the paintings of XVIII-XIX centuries. The Stroganov Palace was built by the architect Rastrelli for the powerful russian family – the Stroganov’s. You will see the unique renovated baroque interiors and the collection of personal belongings of wealthy family. Mikhailovsky Castle was built for the Emperor Paul I by the architects Brenna and Bazhenov as his official residence. This unlucky emperor ruled the country for only 5 years and was killed by the group of the court conspirators. The recently restored interiors of the castle and it’s exhibition, will tell about the history of the building and the life of it’s inhabitants.
